 Richard Wilson, 34, and Vicki Morehouse, 27, got engaged about two years ago. Since then, they have lost almost everything including parents, a child and shelter. On top of that, Vicki’s health has deteriorated immensely, as the 27-year-old's teeth have rotted away and she worries about the diabetes that has run through her family. Richard’s epilepsy keeps him out of work but he does what he can to bring bread back to Vicki. The only thing the couple said they have is each other. But the City of Gainesville, dubbed one of America’s meanest cities for homeless people, has shown them no mercy. The Alachua County Court has sentenced Richard to 180 days in jail for stealing from the library to make an example of him. It is a sentence that will leave them both alone, but the couple insists on sticking together to work through their problems.

In a country where some gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans-gender citizens are afraid of revealing their sexuality, San Francisco Police Sgt. Chuck Limbert is proud to be gay and proud to wear the uniform of his city, which he has served for 21 years.  The Castro was home to the battleground of gay rights activist, Harvey Milk and is now the stomping grounds and district of Sgt. Limbert. He is known by the Castro community as "the mayor" for his support of those who come out of the closet from behind the badge and the work he puts forth to keep his community safe.

 Sgt. Limbert enjoys breakfast with his life partner, San Francisco Police Officer John Stevens in the Castro.The two met six years ago in a Castro bar.

Citizens are allowed to walk around naked in public without being arrested by a police officer for indecent exposure in the Castro, but Sgt. Limbert says someone always calls it in and he has to check it out in case some one wants to file a citizen arrest report with the City.

 A guest to the Castro finds himself at a loss when Sgt. Limbert tells him he is not allowed to sit down on the side walk and play his guitar for money because it violates a Sit/Lie law the city passed to keep the sidewalks open to pedestrians. "Years ago you couldn't even walk down this side walk three steps without tripping over a Vagabond," Sgt. Limbert said.

Sgt Limbert shows his life partner who is boss at a minor car accident in Officer Stevens's district near the Tenderloin in Downtown San Francisco. Officer Stevens joined the police force about a year ago. He was an engineer and wanted to do something different, Sgt. Limbert said.
